When you are applying an airbrush tan to yourself or to your customers, the first thing you should remember is that it may be messy. This type of tanning differs from spray tanning in that the airbrush process converts the tanning solution into a fine spray, aka atomizing.

Regardless, you don’t want to use a totally enclosed area but you do want to make sure you’re in one that can be easily cleaned up. In addition, if you have a tanning business, you really should clean the area after each tanning session because, if you don’t, buildup may occur.

You should let your clients know their responsibilities before they come in for their airbrush tan. These include:

•	Exfoliate the body completely using a loofa and/or gentle body scrub prior to the tan. Let them know that they can use a pumice stone on the feet as well.

•	Let them know they shouldn’t use any oil-based product 24 hours before or after receiving their tan.

•	The body also needs to be completely clean. They shouldn’t use deodorants, lotions, perfumes, make-up or anything else. The cleanest skin possible allows for the best tan possible.

•	Dark, loose clothing is perfect to wear to the appointment and wearing a black bathing suit (at least the bottoms) is optimal to prevent staining. Any clothing that can be constricting will more than likely rub off the tanning solution.

•	In addition, have lip balm available because tanning solutions can dry the lips and let them know that they need an old towel with them so that they can put it on their car seat to prevent any transfer and staining.

•	Let your client know that they can’t do any sweat producing activity for at least 6 hours and tell them that they can’t use any lotion for at least 8 hours.

•	In addition, remember that it would be a good idea to have a variety of tan maintenance products available so that you can ensure your clients get the best treatment possible.

The following are some of your responsibilities when it comes to giving an airbrush tan:

•	It is imperative that you have quality equipment and a location that can be ventilated and easily cleaned.

•	It is also very important that you have quality tanning products, including after-treatment ones, so that your clients have a good choice.

•	In addition, educate yourself and experiment on yourself, and any willing friends, so that you can become fluent in the spraying process. Remember the better you are, the more your clients will want to work with you again.

•	Follow the directions closely and if you’re not sure, err on the side of caution. For example, hold the machine at least 8 inches away from the skin for the best results.

•	In addition, have wet-wipes and plenty of washcloths available for any mess-ups and to dab off any excess before it dries.

When you are giving an airbrush tan, it takes time and practice to give the proper results. Using a touch of common sense will go a long way to ensuring that you give the best tan possible.

This article discusses organic tanners and spray tanning:

Now, with our modern techniques, tans can be obtained all year long. Dermatologist and the Cancer Society are on a widespread campaign to inform the public about the dangers of long-term tanning in the sun or tanning in a tanning bed.

The alternative has been self-tanning solutions and now, spray tanning at your local tanning salon or spa is available in many different forms.

Spray tanning is a great way to provide yourself with a tan without the harmful ultraviolet rays that can cause skin damage, dryness and even cancer. The natural skin care companies have come out with their own sunless tanning products.

These have progressed over the years by experimentation with different dyes, etc. The earlier products were known to come off of the skin onto the clothing. They have created organic based sprays which will not rub off.

Sunless tanning products contain the active ingredient, DHA or dihydroxyacetone. Some are produced synthetically while organic tanners usually derive their DHA from vegetable sources. The DHA when applied in the form of a cream, lotion or even spray combines with our epidermis or outer skin layer cells and it will temporarily darken the skin, thus creating the appearance of a tan.

As in any tan, our dead skin cells with the tanned skin gradually shed from the surface and the tan disappears. Some natural skin care companies use organic soy extracts with sugar which gives a very natural tanned appearance and tone to the skin. Along with these extracts are added jojoba oil or possibly aloe vera which provide the tanners with a moisturizing effect.

Lavera Sunless self-tanning lotion is an extremely popular organic tanner, and is made from soy extracts and also utilize sugar with their product to provide a natural tan to the skin. Their product combined with aloe vera, rose oil make it a beautiful natural self tanner with a moisturizing effect to the lotion.

Spray Tanning:

Spray tanning has become a new version of safe tanning. The standard type of spray tanning usually contains dyes, alcohol with innumerable chemicals. You do not have to be stuck with this type and can also go organic if you prefer. Many prefer the organic spray tanning due to the lack of chemicals in the spray tanner.

The original spray tanners had an odor that was very chemical in origin. They were definitely an alternative way to get a safe tan, but you did not have the aroma of safety. That made people wonder if it was good to apply to the skin.

There really is no difference in the cost and many prefer the organic and feel it would be worth it, even if it did have a higher price tag.

Many of the organic spray tanners contain mineral salts. This provides the bronzing effect. The time spent is approximately 15 minutes and the tan darkens over approximately a ten hour period.

Tanning booths are now a regular method to ensure people in ‘sun poor’ countries can have that all over tan every day of the year. It is the dangers of overexposure to the sun that has lead to this prevalence of alternative methods at the same time that skin cancer is on the increase, but it is emerging that even tanning beds have their own set of health concerns. Spray tanning is the latest of the artificial tanning methods and is becoming very popular as a safe method which produces excellent results without the danger of sun exposure or tanning beds. If you want to have a fake color that does not have streak marks then spraying seems to be the superior system over creams and lotions.

There are now home spray tanning systems available but these may not be the easiest to use on your own although regular users they could save money and time. A better alternative may be to employ the services of a mobile spray tanning company that will travel to your home to help you get the tan you are looking for. Regardless of the tanning method you choose (spray, cream or lotion) there are a few basic steps to follow to ensure that you get the best results possible. Cleaning the dead skin off your body is the most important step using a proprietary exfoliation scrub which can be bought from any drugstore. If you apply a tan agent to dead skin it will just fall off and leave light spots in its place.

To complete this part of the preparation, the skin needs to be moist and ready to accept the tan so a good skin moisturizer will need to be applied all over. Once you have done this you will be ready to apply the tanning lotion or cream but remember to wear latex gloves if you are self applying the tan, as long applications mean that the tanning solution coats the hands producing an orange effect on the palms which everyone can see. All your joints i.e. knuckles, elbows, knees and ankles will need to be given a lighter coat as these areas will appear much darker and everyone will know what you have been doing! Where a spray tanning system has been used it is quite normal, once it has been applied, to use some sort of towel to wipe any excess so streaking does not occur.

Once the tanning agent (whatever type you have used) has been applied you will need to have somewhere to relax and not move while the coating dries or small smear marks might occur. Consider what you are going to wear once you have applied the fake tan as it tends to stain objects, in particular clothing. Obviously darker clothing is the best option so the staining will not be as visible, and if possible, something that you will not worry about if it gets damaged. Now that you have this information it should be much easier having a fake tan without anyone knowing.

Of course, to seal the deal, you should consider getting a professional to apply the tan. Their experience minimizes the chances of color streaking or over coloration in the wrong places. Usually they will get much better results than if you had decided to apply your own tan.

Don’t forget to take some dark clothing for when you get your spray tan as the tanning spray can stain clothes. Most importantly, ask your spray tan professional for advice before you get it done. They will know all of the things that you need to do and bring! http://thebronzingboutique.com.au

There is something so beautiful about having tanned skin. But should you attempt spray tanning at home or should you have a trained professional to do this in a tanning salon?

There is something so beautiful about having tanned skin, the problem is that there are so many risks involved in having a natural tan. Not only does it make our skin more wrinkly than it would normally be, but it can also cause skin cancer which is a very serious disease. It’s no wonder that so many health and beauty experts are telling us to go for the sunless tan option which is why so many people are taking up spray tan.

The dilemma we’re then faced with is whether to attempt spray tanning at home or if we should have a trained professional to do this in a tanning salon. There are so many plus and minus points for both options but here is a guide to help you.

If you have a special event you want a tan for or you’ve booked a last minute holiday then being able to achieve a sunless tan at home means you can do this very quickly. Otherwise you would need to phone around different salons to find out if they have a last minute appointment available for you. The problem with tanning at home is that so many people struggle to achieve the results they are looking for. Turning orange, patches and streaks are fake tanning nightmares that most people can relate to.

In order to fake a natural tan you should also think about evenness of coverage and also you have to think about where you would normally get the most sun. Some people have perfected the tanning technique so that they get very natural looking results but often this perfection is achieved from much trial and error. Fake tan problems is the main reasons that many men and women continue to take a tan using sunbeds even although the know the risks. Beauty therapists in these tanning salons are trained and experienced and carry out the tanning on a daily basis so they know exactly what they’re doing. Also reaching your back can be a big problem unless you have someone on hand to help you out.

Cost is also a factor you are going to have to think about when tanning. Self tanning is a much cheaper option however you might make so many mistakes that it’s not worth the bother. Spray tanning salons are more expensive but often it’s more than worth it.

You should also think about the tone of your skin when tanning. For instance if you have fair skin then you should avoid using a fake tan which is too dark for you. In a tanning salon they can use the best solution for you.

Ultimately it’s up to you what fake tan method you choose, if you can get great results at home then continue what you’re doing. But if you hate self-tanning then a salon is probably you’re best option.

April Kerr often writes articles for a Glasgow Directory site which also has articles relating to tanning salons in Glasgow and cosmetic surgeons in Glasgow.

One of the most important or best reasons to get a spray tan is that it’s going to save your skin and possibly your life. Yeah, that’s right: spray tanning is UV-free. What does this mean? Well, you’re not going to prematurely age. Tanning outside often causes wrinkles and dries skin out. Additionally, you’re not going to have to worry yourself to death about future issues with cancer. Instead of searching your body for cancerous moles or other tell-tale signs, you can look at your glowing skin and know that it is safe and beautiful.

Spray tanning is great way to tan your whole body. When you tan outside, chances are that you miss certain areas and will have tan lines. Additionally, it’s hard to make sure the tan is the same (i.e. if you move, certain pieces of your body will be tanner than others). A spray tan will ensure you are not only nice and tan, but it will ensure that you are completely tan and without pesky tan lines! You can have everything from your feet to your shoulders to hard-to-tan places like your wrists sprayed. This will make you look even better in your clothes.

If you go for a spray tan, you won’t have to worry about burning. In general, you have more control over the kind of tan you receive. You can go for a dark brown or you can look for a light brown color. You’ll look great without having to worry about falling asleep or being in a great deal of pain. Nobody looks good when they’re bright red or orange after a day in the sun, and spray tanning is a way to keep your skin safe and to keep your skin color away from radioactive shades.

A spray tan ensures you can look good and tan even in the winter months. You won’t have to go on vacation to a tropical paradise to look nice and brown. Spray tanning can even help keep you upbeat during the cold months. Spray tanning is an easy process, one that most salons do, and it can be a nice treat when the streets are covered in snow and you’re looking for a way to cheer up and gear up for the summer months.

Spray tanning is a great way to gear up for important events. The process doesn’t take as long as real tanning, and it means you can look your best for any event. Without tan lines and hours spent at the beach or in the sun, you can save time and energy when it comes to looking nice.

Consider a Sydney spray tan next time you’re in town. It’s safe, professional and will give you skin a safe tan for summer!

When getting a spray tan – there are many things we can do to improve the way that the self-tanner adheres to the skin, or even improve how long the tan lasts! Here are some tips that will help first time tanners get an even tan that will withstand.

First, before the tanning appointment it is important to exfoliate the skin. This means, that a light scrub should be used all over the body that has texture within the wash. The most common ingredients that create these textures are salt, sugar and sand. When using the exfoliant, scrub lightly to remove dead skin. The fresh skin layer that is left will create an even glow that lasts.

Take off any jewelry or white clothing that could leave visible tan lines. Be sure to remove all jewelry before entering the tanning booth. Although the tanning solution will not harm jewelry, it could leave unsightly marks on the person tanning. Better safe than streaky!

Directly after the tan it is important to remove any excess solution from the bottom of the feet, or the palms of the hands. Wet wipes are provided at most tanning salons that are enabled with spray tans. Use these on the tops of the feet, as well as the tops of the hands as well, to ensure that no spots are evident. Be quick, the solution dries fast, and the last thing that tanner’s want is evidence of their faux glow!

After tanning, it is important to wait for to six hours to have a shower. Showering before this time is up could lead to the tan being washed from the skin. Did you know that lotions and oils can decrease the effect, as they block the skin? Refrain from lotions containing high levels of oils before spray tanning, for the best glow.

Want a darker tan? Darker tans are the result of the solution being exposed to the skin for a longer period of time. For this reason, the excess moisture should be allowed to dry on the skin, rather than being toweled off. While it is drying, use the provided wipes to clean any areas which you do not want the excess tan.

While maintaining the tan it is important to refrain from long showers or long hot baths. You see, these practices cause the skin to exfoliate. With spray tans, the top layer of the skin maintains the color, hence the temporary effect. When long showers or hot baths are taken, than the skin will regenerate itself, causing the spray tan to fade. Not only water, but soaps can also cause the tan to fade – be sure to use mild soaps, with warm water and no exfoliant to ensure a lasting glow.

Using these tips, a spray tan should last at least five days – just long enough for your important event or date. Be sure to tan the day before the event, ensuring enough time for the skin to adjust, and to be able to shower again.

So whay not consider a spray tan? It’s safe and gives your skin a beautiful tan without having to go out in the sun!

In recent years a safer alternative to regular tanning using sun-beds or tanning booths has become the way to ensure a year-round tan. It is the number of cases of skin cancer caused by too much exposure to the sun that has lead to this rise in alternative but safer tanning methods. Luckily for consumers, a safer and more convenient alternative has been developed in the form of mobile spray tanning, where a specialist will visit your home or office to administer your tan.

This tanning method is the fastest growing artificial tanning and is generally carried out at a beauty salon, though can also be done in the privacy of your own home. While sun tan creams and lotions have been popular for many years, the spray tanning seems to give a more consistent and natural looking color. Combined with the experience of the person administering your spray tan, you can usually get much more natural looking results than self-applied remedies.

With the popularity of mobile spray tanning increasing, home tanning systems using the new spray technology have been developed and are gaining wide acceptance. Now, while various methods of artificial tanning may differ, a good guide to getting a good finish works with most of them.

To ensure a good clean body surface to work with, you will need to remove any dead skin by exfoliation. The last thing you want is to have dead skin dropping off and leaving lighter patches where it once was. Once that stage has been completed, the body needs to be moisturized all over.

Before applying a tan from a bottle or cream, ensure you are wearing gloves or the orange palms that will follow will give the game away. Sometimes it’s just better to allow a professional to apply the tan for you – especially with spray tans. If you are doing it yourself, apply lighter coats on the joints of your fingers, your knees, and your elbows as these areas will appear darker if you do not and the same applies to your feet.

When a spray tanning system is used a towel will be needed to wipe of any excess which could cause a streak. Don’t wiggle around a lot after applying the self tanning agent, remaining as motionless as possible will help to ensure an even tan.

Tanning agents of all types will leave stains on your clothing almost as soon as you put them on so consider what you intend to wear one you have finished. Dark clothing is obviously the best choice as even if it does stain, it won’t notice so readily and you won’t have to throw the clothing out. To get the most from your artificial tan, follow these guidelines and you won’t go far wrong.

Don’t forget that getting a tan with from a professional mobile spray tanning company will increase your chances of a better outcome. A lot of them are a lot cheaper than you would think too!

Don’t forget that there are many places that offer a professional mobile spray tan. The experience and professionalism of an experienced spray tan practitioner will help ensure that you will get a natural and beautiful tan that meets all of your expectations.
